Alex Carey is an Australian wicketkeeper-batsman, born on August 27, 1991, who plays for Australia and the Adelaide Strikers, with a career spanning international and domestic cricket. He is a left-handed batsman known for his resilience, with significant records including scoring 2,010 runs in 43 Test matches and 2,245 runs in 85 ODIs. He has also played in T20s, the BBL, the IPL, and the PSL, where he was signed by Islamabad United in 2025.

Carey turned down a rookie contract offer from the South Australian Cricket Association and moved to Sydney in 2010 to join the Australian Football League’s (AFL) new expansion club, the Greater Western Sydney Giants.
Carey initially made his debut as a specialist top-order batsman in 2013, but was unsuccessful and dropped. He moved down the batting order and became a wicket-keeper.
